About the role

We have an excellent opportunity available for a motivated Vehicle Technician to join our enthusiastic team at Honda Swansea.

As a Bassetts Technician, you will join our team of talented vehicle technicians and be responsible for the maintenance and repair work of motor vehicles for our customers. You will also ensure that you deliver an outstanding customer experience.

The Vehicle Technicians at Bassetts work a variety of flexible patterns which can typically include weekends to ensure we provide our customers with the highest possible levels of service.

About you

You must be a qualified Vehicle Technician with a formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).

Ideally, you will have the ability to work within given timescales and the ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing. Diagnostic skills and experience in problem-solving are not essential but are desirable.

Job description: 

What you’ll be doing: 

• Preparing wheels for painting/lacquering using shrink-wrap to protect the tyres on non-diamond cut wheels 

• Balancing every wheel prior to refitting to the vehicle 

• Using shot-blasters to key-up alloy wheels 

• Using orbital sanders to remove small chips/scuffs in the alloy wheel 

• Ensuring wheel nuts are torqued to the recommended settings 

• Maintaining a clean and tidy working area at all times Required skills and experience: 

• Full Driving Licence Required

Vehicle Service Advisor/Senior Service advisor required in Honda Swansea.

Starting salary plus bonus scheme and overtime providing a potential annual earnings of up to £30000 per annum.

42.5 hour week Mon to Fri 8:30am-17:30pm.

Bassetts Honda / Ssangyong , a long-established multi-franchise approved car dealer, are currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Service Advisor to join our Swansea dealership.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will work alongside another Vehicle Service Advisor and a workshop team and shall be responsible for providing a pro-active service to customers requesting to schedule their vehicles in for service, maintenance or repair work and arranging, where necessary, a courtesy vehicle.

As a Vehicle Service Advisor, you will greet customers into the Service Department, extensively liaise with the workshop to monitor and chase work in progress, keep customers informed of the progress of their vehicle, and up-sell on additional products and services where possible.

You will also be required to assist in vehicle parts related enquiries and provide parts to the workshop team as and when necessary.

The successful Service Advisor will be able to deliver the very highest level of customer service through strong communication skills resulting in total customer satisfaction.

Strong organisational skills along with IT literacy (any experience with Kerridge/ADP preferable) would be of high priority. Due to the nature of this role, recent or current experience as a Vehicle Service Advisor, Vehicle Parts Advisor, or a similar role within the automotive industry would be highly advantageous however it is non-essential.

Liaising with the vehicle manufacturer to authorise warranty repairs, and a general knowledge of warranty procedures would be advantageous but is not essential.
